COMBALSAT proposed activities

The main types of proposed works are:

-Developing databases

-Developing methodologies;

-Developing algorithms;

-Developing software tools;

-Developing descriptions of supporting software system;

-Testing databases and software;

-Developing proposals for training tools.

The managers of the project participate in methodology and algorithm development, in testing databases and software, control all works and results and separate management actions are not included in the working plan.

The period of the contract is less than total number of days, because some of the work is carried in parallel.

 

1. Project coordination, management and support activities

COMBALSAT will coordinate project and will participate in management of the project and will support to Working Groups with his experts.

 

2. Available  international RF software modules and databases.

           Existing international RF software modules and databases should be described and proposed for utilization in training tools. COMBALSAT began examined ITU-BR  databases with registered satellite and terrestrial wireless networks and software modules and dynamic link library (DLL) for using them. This study will continue.

Analyzing Related FP-6 ICT Projects

FP-6 Projects on Training tools and on wireless networks should be analysed. COMBALSAT studded more than 800 ICT projects and 8 projects are selected for later discussions.

3. Definition of Key Requirements.

COMBALSAT will prepare requirements for examination the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and interference between satellite/satellite and satellite/terrestrial networks.

COMBALSAT will participate in defining of requirements for examination of digital TV networks, e-learning systems, connection of databases with digital library and in some of other requirements.

4. Planning, Algorithms and Database structures

COMBALSAT will develop algorithms for training tools and structure of databases and digital library and will select the proper databases as a source for digital library:

Algorithms for network analyzes and interference calculation for Satellite communication networks;

Algorithms for examination the EMC and interference between satellite/satellite and satellite/terrestrial networks, coverage zone and Power Flux Density (PFD) calculation using international registration databases and Master International Frequency Register (MIFR);

COMBALSAT will participate in developing algorithms for analyzing models for Digital broadcasting, utilization of Digital Terrain Maps (DTM) and development the structure of training digital library with DTM examples for different regions.

COMBALSAT will participate in developing and discussion algorithms and structure of proper databases for training, demonstration and analyzing of models for other wireless networks.

 

5. Development of software tools and databases

COMBALSAT will develop Software Tools for examination the EMC and interference between satellite/satellite and satellite/terrestrial networks, coverage zone and Power Flux Density (PFD) calculation using international registration databases, data for satellite beans and Master International Frequency Register (MIFR). The coverage zone and critical test points will be drawn over the world map. Software will generate different results by dynamically changing input data by users and creating Dynamic Digital Libraries.

COMBALSAT will develop Software Tools for analyzing models for Digital broadcasting, utilization of Digital Terrain Maps (DTM) and development the structure of training digital library with DTM examples for different regions. The software training tools will have options for examination the DVB-T frequency plans and corresponding interference margins using RRC-06 databases and planned allotment zones over DTM. This software will help to demonstrate the real conditions and coverage areas of TV transmitters.

COMBALSAT will participate in developing and testing Software Tools for training, demonstration and analyzing of models for other wireless networks and for optimization models for hybrid wireless networks and software modules for graphic presentation of the results, network simulation and demonstration.

 

6. Development of Information- decision-making systems influencing ICT integration in education on Wireless Communication Networks

COMBALSAT will participate in developing and testing of dynamic digital library, WEB-based products, databases and E-learning modules and tools for using them.

Implementation, testing and demonstrations

COMBALSAT will participate in testing the Software tools, in arrangement of open source software modules, in implementations, demonstrations and simulations activities.

7.Distributable

COMBALSAT will take part in distribution of information for developed modules, Open source Software Tools, databases, digital libraries, Manuals and instructions for using them.
