DTM Format Databases

DTM Format Databases are in MS Access format. They can be read and created at run time.

Database connections

The main program module is connected to local produced frequency management databases and has facility to read data from ITU-BR databases (IDWM, GIMS, TERRASYS, RCD, RR(Art.5.).

Main platform – example

1. Example for main platform is described. The main platform is a simple GIS application (Fig.2.1 and Fig.4.1— on next page). The starting windows is document for drawing and calculating with two type menus:

main menu;

pop-up menu (opened by double click of the right mouse button).

The data are entered in the vertical dialog on the right side of the Fig.4.1. or in the additional dialogs, opened by the menu instructions.

Pop-up menu

           “Pop-up menu” repeats the basic function of  “Main menu“ and started the sample GIS aplications. “Pop-up menu” is started by DBL-CLICK Right mouse button. Main topics are:

“Draw DTM” –(Fig.4.4.1.) pop-up submenu with common drawing functions:

“Load and Draw DTM in BMP”

“Load and Draw DTM on Display”

“Draw DWM in BMP from DB”

 “Projects” - pop-up submenu for radiokommunikations common projects:

  “Coverage- pop-up submenu:

“Draw Coverage in BMP”

“Calc and Draw Coverage on display”

“New Coverage  BMP”

“RRL Path”- pop-up submenu:

“Calc and  Draw Path in BMP”

“Save BMP” -pop-up submenu for saving different type of layer bitmaps:

“Save Main BMP” – bitmap only with DTM

“Save Selected Object BMP”

“Save Coordination Grid BMP”

“Save Common BMP” – this bitmap is created with the  layer bitmaps merged over Main bitmap.

Vertical data Dialog is for entering some of the parameters for the projects (Fig4.5.).

“Xm” – the limits of the minimum and maximum longitudes of the DTM to select.

“Ym” -  the limits of the minimum and maximum latitudes of the of the DTM to select.

 

Additional data dialog

 Dialog for Database names.

 Project Dialog – for entering the parameters for the projects.

“Xmin=”, “Xmax=” – the limits of the minimum and maximum longitudes of the DTM to select.

“Ymin=”, “Ymax=”-  the limits of the minimum and maximum latitudes of the of the DTM to select.

Radio visibility (radio transmitter coverage).

Radio visibility from given Earth point is calculated by data from:

original DTM file;

MS ACCESS data base;

Already loaded in memory.

The Earth point is fixed (after drawing the and calibrating the map) by entering geographical coordinates in Project Dialog (Fig. ), or directly on display by mouse cursor.

Fix the Earth point for Radio visibility by mouse cursor.

Mouse cursor is pointed over the desired Earth point on display before starting the project evaluation.

The coordinates of the point is fixed by SHIFT + Click Right mouse button.

The results are the point coordinates in the memory and red cross on display over the selected point.

Start the Coverage project by Pop-Up Menu instruction “Projects” ->  “Coverage” -> “Draw Coverage in BMP”. The area of radio visibility is drawn.

 RRL path (terrain profiles)

The two Earth points of the RRL path are fixed (after drawing the and calibrating the map) by entering geographical coordinates in Project Dialog (Fig. ), or directly on display by mouse cursor.

Fix the Earth points for RRL Path by mouse cursor.

Mouse cursor is pointed over the desired Earth points P1 on display before starting the project evaluation.

The coordinates of the point is fixed by CTRL + DBL-CLICK Left mouse button.

The result is the point coordinates in the memory and green cross on display over the selected point P1.

The coordinates of the point is fixed by CTRL + DBL-CLICK Left mouse button.

The result is the point coordinates in the memory, green cross on display over the selected point P2 and a black line between points P1 and P2.

Start the RRL Path project by Pop-Up Menu instruction “Projects” ->  “RRL Path” -> “Calc and  Draw Path in BMP”. The RRL Path is drawn in separate Bitmap. The RRL Path can be optimized by the tools bar button:

Enhanced WBASMS
Enhanced WBASMS incorporate all future of the WBASMS and the included options according to the specification….
Starting Enhanced WBASMS, they should see the similar window, as with the older WBASMS (Fig2.1.). This solution will prevent the users, utilizing older WBASMS from confusing of the newer, more complex functions. The operator can work in older platform, or to step to the Enhanced WBASMS with DTM facility.

WBASMS and EWBASMS
WBASMS as starting application is shown on Fig.2.1.
